QuvenZhane Wallis Carried in her adorable priZed possession puppy handbag clutch on the red carpet Sunday at the 2013 Oscars where she was nominated for Best Actress!  And her studded puppy handbag looked just like our little Coco! ( And to think Coco thought it was a real puppy!)
QuvenZhane, best known for her role in "Beasts of the Southern Wild",  loved her "Loyal and True" tshirt where she signed her doggies names! And if it wasn't for her gorgeous Princess gown she would have worn it right there and then!  QuvenZhane was our pick for Best Actress, and a woof and a puppy smooch go out to her!

"My Dog Rescued Me" by Vered Nisim Steps4Paws founder

"My Dog Rescued Me" by Vered Nisim Steps4Paws founder

What a feeling to come home after a long day, and whats the first thing that happens as you walk through that door?? Your furry best friend jumps all over you covering you in kisses! They call it unconditional love, we call it happiness!  A dog can teach you so much, kindness, compassion, love, patience, and the list goes on and on.  When we bring home these rescue dogs from shelters, the first thing you see is their hesitation and many times their fear.  Giving us the power to make change in their lives.  Just a bowl of water, and some food and a hug, and he's your best friend forever.  Give the most difficult child a chance to love and teach a dog, and you will see transformation within the child. Give a depressed or angry adult the chance to work with a dog in need, and see the change within them.  Our dogs do rescue us, they dont know it and  we sometimes dont see it...however take a step back and see the difference they bring out in each of us.

"My Dog Rescued Me" by Keaton Simons

"My Dog Rescued Me" by Keaton Simons

Keaton Simons, a long time rescue dog supporter and an amaZing singer, stopped by our Oscar Lounge!  Sharing his insight as to how his rescue dog in fact rescued him!

"If not for Bentley, how would I feel I had a collaborator, even when I'm writing alone?
If not for Bentley, how would I have things to post on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter when I've said it all?
If not for Bentley, how would I have discovered that reading doesn't always involve words?
If not for Bentley, how would I get to remember our real power as humans, which is the power to help our animal friends?
Bentley is something to sing about." - Keaton Simons

"My Dog Rescued Me!" with Eric Roberts

"My Dog Rescued Me!" with Eric Roberts

Eric Roberts is so passionate about dogs, even while he is in the midst of literally doZens of movies in 2013,  and his carreer continues to soar he still makes time to help make a difference saving lives, one dog at a time!

"Practically everyone's on head meds these days, and I'm as worried and frustrated as the next guy."
"But there is great joy in life as well, and our dogs, cats, squirrels, raccoons, horses and birds have rescued me from seeing and living life in a melancholy way.
I have learned appreciation from the animal members of our family, and from animals I encounter in daily life.  They are my heroes." -Eric Roberts

These days Eric and Eliza live with a house full of rescued animals - three dogs, four cats, and two horses. “All of our babies are rescues.  Every one of them,” says Eric.  “We consider all our animals to be our kids.”
“Rescuing animals is the only way to go. The earth is a great big orphanage for most animals.  And I’m all for spaying and neutering.  There are already 2 billion people too many on this planet, and god knows how many animals there are that are overflowing.  It’s an instinct to breed so we have to help them not do it. There are animals that are bred to be sold, but all the other animals need love too.  They don’t have any papers and they don’t have any history, so people who don’t love animals for all the right reasons don’t gravitate towards them.  But if you love animals for all the right reasons- and that’s just love and affection- then you’re going to go after animals who need you.  That’s an animal without a home, or without papers, or without a breed. Those animals, some might say, that are less than perfect. "

Eric is our favorite animal advocate, who knows first hand how rescue dogs actually make a difference in our lives and actually rescue us!

Dear Chucky,

The Heroic act of Loyal and True:

Jerry Mathers aka Beaver Cleaver
Jerry Mathers at the Golden Globes Awards
At the Golden Globes Awards event I got to hang out with a super cool guy!  Jerry  Mathers AKA Beaver Cleaver!  He had an amazing story to tell us about how his dog rescued HIM! Im quoting his story below...its so touching and cool.
"I had always wanted a dog like Rin Tin Tin and my parents did find a German Shepherd from his bloodline when I was around 6 years old.  He was a wonderful animal and we named him Ron Ton Ton.  He was very devoted to our family.  About 4 years after we got him the forced air heater in our house caught fire and no one woke up.  Ron Ton Ton slept by the front door and he ran through the flames in the hallway and woke up my father.  We all got outside safely and the fire department said that if the dog had not awakened my dad when he did, we probably all would have died from smoke inhalation.  We were grateful for the heroic act of our wonderful companion and enjoyed many more years with our furry friend!"
Jerry Mathers

It goes to say, a dog is Loyal and True.  Give him a home, a warm bed and some food and he is dedicated to you for life.

-Gerald Patrick "Jerry" Mathers is an American television, film, and stage actor. Mathers is best known for his role in the television sitcom series Leave It to Beaver (1957–1963), in which he played Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver, the younger son of archetypal suburban couple June and Ward Cleaver (played by Barbara Billingsley and Hugh Beaumont), and the brother of Wally Cleaver (played by Tony Dow).

Welcoming our newest family member miss Coco Chanel!

Does a puppy actually suck their thumb?
Well she sure does all the time!

Coco sucking her thumb
Coco is sucking her thumb!

Here's cocos story:
Coco's mama was rescued the day before euthanization. But even more miraculous is the day she was supposed to go in to get her neutered she gave birth to 4 of the cutest puppies! Coco was the only white one!
Well it looked fun and easy at first, but now when she's awake all she wants to do is chase me. Round and round the house till I lose my cool and take a snap at her! I'm pooped all day ! At night she gets put in her crate but as soon as she's done she is crying and whining again ! When shes not sleeping shes chasing my tail around, YES MY TAIL, she thinks its a toy....and if she gets a hold of it WATCH OUT, its Super Coco flying through the air!

Gotta Love little Sisters!
